    What is it?

A Newton is a unit used to measure force. One Newton is equal to the weight of 100 grams.

    Give me an example!

Newtons are a handy standard for comparing how much force is required to do different tasks. For example, it probably takes more Newtons to haul a diesel locomotive down the track than it does to pick up a penny!
