Angiosperms
What is it?
Angiosperms are plants that produce flowers and develop fruit around their seeds.
Give me an example!
Angiosperms thrive all over the world. They dominate most terrestrial biomes and are the most diverse group of land plants with at least 250,000 biological species.
Angiosperms are not only important in terms of ecology and biodiversity, but they are of major economic importance. Cereal grains like wheat, oats, barley and corn are angiosperms, as are apples, oranges, and bananas. Angiosperms are also an important resource in the development of drugs that are used to fight cancer, heart disease, malaria, and many other diseases.
