![]() Rotary Motion What is it? Rotary motion is when an object moves in a circle centered around a specific point called an axis. In other words, when something is turning around and around, it is said to have rotary motion. Give me an example! Stand up and turn around. The motion you just completed is called rotary motion because every part of your body turned around an imaginary point in space called an axis. The wheels of a bicycle also turn in rotary motion, and so does the propeller on an airplane and the crankshaft in a car engine. Copyright ©2010, PCS Edventures, Inc. All Rights Reserved. |
