Animals What is it? Animals are living things that do not produce their own food like plants do. Give me an example! You're an animal! That's right, you are! Since animals can not produce their own food, they must eat other things in order to survive. Animals that eat plants are called herbivores. Animals that eat other animals are called carnivores.
