  • Http

    What is it?

http appears at the beginning of every URL on the World Wide Web. http means hypertext transfer protocol.

    Give me an example!

When you type in http at the beginning of a URL, it's a signal to your computer's browser that what follows is going to be an address on the WWW. Sort of a "secret code", or what computer experts call a protocol.
