![]() Radial Planning What is it? Radial planning is a kind of city planning which creates zones for different kinds of development in concentric circles outward from the center of a city. Give me an example! Have you ever noticed that the kind of buildings you see change as you drive into or out of a city? That's a sign of radial planning. Different zones are established like the various rings on a bullseye target, with banking and commercial buildings in the heart of the city, followed by other kinds of zones as you work your way out -- residential, industrial, or agricultural. A park or green belt is often used as buffer between zones. Copyright ©2010, PCS Edventures, Inc. All Rights Reserved. |
